We are pleased to announce the appointment of Phillip J. Myhra, FSA, MAAA, as Executive Vice President and Chief Actuary of ZON Re. Mr. Myhra had previously served as Executive Vice President of HealthMarkets Inc. (North Richland Hills, TX) and as President and Chief Actuary of their subsidiary firms; The MEGA Life and Health Insurance Company and the Mid-West National Life Insurance Company. Prior to joining HealthMarkets, Mr. Myhra was Senior Vice President with Mutual of Omaha (Omaha, Nebraska).

Mr. Myhra has an extensive background in product development, pricing, distribution and administration across the spectrum of Life, Accident and Health and Disability lines of business. He has experience with both independent and captive agent distribution models for individual, group and association insurance products. While at HealthMarkets, Mr. Myhra had oversight responsibilities for ZON Re’s Personal Accident Reinsurance and Insurance initiatives since the company was founded in 2003.
